FRIDAY'S FRAGMENTS

The Good Humor Man

When I was a kid I thought there was absolutely nothing better than having a little change in my pocket and upon hearing the caliope music coming from blocks away ran at full speed to be first in line on my block to get a icy sweet treat from the friend of every kid in the neighborhood..........The Good Humor Man!

Popsicles, Fudgesicles, Dream Bars, Nutty Buddy's, Dixie Cups, and Eskimo Bars
What a heavenly memory!

  1. Ooh, popsicles! I use to love those when I lived in Canada! Don't get the here! Those double popsicles! Once though some boys followed me home because they wanted my popsicle, and of course they weren't going to get it! I ran off and they shot me with an air rifle! Luckily I only had a dint in my skin, but I still kept that popsicle! Good to have you as a buddy on FB! Luvs you Mollye! Suzie. xxx

  2. Hi Miz M. I am on facebook, don't care for it much. Mostly kids on there and I don't even want to hear what they are saying. My kids and grands are on there and I have read some things I wish I hadn't seen. I will e-mail you and you just put my name in and check friend request. Once you are there you will see other names that blog you might recognize. Loved you post today.

  3. Hi Mollye

We never had an ice cream man, but our cousins did. We loved to visit them and run to the truck for a sweet treat.

I went "faceless" about a year ago. Facebook was getting out of control and I like blogging better.

    Good luck!

  4. Awe...I love this old photo as it does bring back lots of memories of my ice cream truck days. We would never hear Mom calling for us but we could hear the ice cream truck 10 miles away!
Right now though, I'm freezing my patoozies off, it's too cold for me to wishing for ice cream!
    Have a wonderful weekend Mollye!!!!

  8. First off thank you sweet pea for the sweetest birthday wishes!
I had the best birthday party ever!

I remember the Good Humor ice cream man! I also remember he'd park out in front of our house because he knew my hubby would get our daughter an ice cream everyday!

    Thanks for the precious memories!
