Fly Away Babies, Fly Away Home

Motherhood is wonderful when they are babes and it is beyond wonderful when they are grown and have come to visit.

But.....................I don't have the energy I had even just a few short years ago and I don't hear quite as well, so instead of asking to continually repeat, I smile and nod and act as if I have heard everything, and people, places and things have a way of grating on my nerves and I just hate that! I feel as if I am a wet blanket on the fun of my grown kids and I feel that I spoil their fun and I end up the day feeling like I'm a cranky old nag. And I hate that too!

I end up doing a lot of crying after they leave. I'm sad to see them all gone. Hubby is in the woods and he has actually shot two deer so we will have lots of venison this year, but once again, the house is quiet. I miss him. I miss my kids.

My noisy grown up kids who were all here just a few hours ago. My oldest daughter will go back home tomorrow. My oldest son just moved to Alabama. My youngest daughter will go back to work tomorrow and her life wil go back to her routine with her family. My youngest son has a new girlfriend. His life is taking on new and happy surprises.

I'm just feeling a little depressed. I think a good nights sleep will do me wonders 'tis just a momma thing I think. A normal thing of just getting on up there. But hey tomorrow I plan to take a picture of all the groovy things I have to mail to someone for my 100th Post Giveaway and I can tell you that you will love it. There is the Lady Journal, a little book all about Reds, a vintage pair of clip-on earrings and choker to match all sizes of rhinestones galore on them! And a beauty of a little after 5: beaded, sequined black satin handbag. Ooh la la. You're gonna love it. So come on back on Wednesday and see what you'll get if I draw your name, but remember you have got to comment on any of my posts where you've seen this postcard. Peace to you all, mizmollye

WINNER...Truth or Spoof

Well Thank You Girlz all for playing along with me in my silly little game. There were 23 entries and your comments warmed my heart and your answers were funny. I wrote all the names and the number of which you commented on little circles and put them in one of the tiny teapots and Punkin Darlin oh so gently reached in and drew one out!

And.................
Congratulations Terry from Terry's Treasures whose name he drew, so Terry will be receiving a very nice box of goodies and she also is a quilter so she will love the Crazy Quilt book. Terry, please contact me by email and give me your address.
And.............
Now to answer some of your comments. I was a Car hop and Waitress as a teenager at the drive-in/diner my parents owned. I went directly into Business College after high school and while attending school was trained by our family dentist as a Dental Assistant but he ran me off due to his darkroom antics! I worked as a Social Service Designee at a skilled nursing facility for a time and worked as a Telephone Operator when my girls were young and oops! almost forgot that while in high school I worked Saturdays at a ladies dress shop called Lerner's and got to "model" the new fashions while working. I've been a Merchandise Buyer of educational materials in retail and my late husband and I were Caretakers for a hunting club in northern California and also lived with a wealthy family for a short time as tutor/nanny for their children and were their personal cooks. I've tried my hand at house painting and went to beauty school and became a Hair Stylist when the kids were in their teens. My daughter, Lori has a tax office in Hot Springs, Arkansas and also a cable TV show. I go up there during tax season to work in her office and today I write from home the TV copy for all the restaurant sponsors on her show. At my retirement time, I finished my "professional career" as Secretary for the Cathedral of which we are Parishioners here in Shreveport.
Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I forget anything? Oh yes and I am a huge fan of John Grisham, reading everything he writes as soon as it's out and watch crime and courtroom TV like crazy, but Never no Never have I been a PARALEGAL. And one person guessed that. And because there was only one who came up with the correct Spoof, I have a "Runner-up Pressie" for her.

Deborah of Vintage Soul, please contact me so I can arrange to send you something.
I wish you had all won a gift but I sure won because I made lots of new friends from playing this giveaway game and hope you'll keep coming back to visit, because I know I will continue to see what you're doing. Feels like we're Sisters now:)
See ya tomorrow!

PUZZLEMANIA

Even Big Girls have to Play!
I was visiting my new friend Kimmie's blog over at Art In Redwagons and she had recently finished with a Puzzle Swap and I was hooked. You just have to go take a look and see the puzzle as a whole after everyone created their puzzle piece, and you know me.......if I see something so enchanting I feel like I've just got to have one too!
But I had no one to swap with and the impatient one I am was off and running to the Goodwill for used puzzles but alas there were none. So to the Dollar Store and once again was let down. Dang-it what was I to do. WallyWorld to the rescue, but what I had hoped to pick up for a quarter ended up costing much more. However I came back armed with a load of kids puzzles with more than huge pieces as you can see here.

Well I thought it would be fun to do each one based on a theme so for my first I covered the pieces with floral images and then cut or tore out illustrations from the old Sears Roebuck Catalog and colored them up a bit and glued them on and inked all the edges. Captions were added for fun and then a layer of Diamond Glaze which I think I will leave off on the future ones. I painted the frame black and added buttons with the hot glue gun and screwed on a vintage drawer pull thing on top. Double click on each image for a more up close look.

And lastly I glued each piece to the board and when all was dry, I went around each piece with glue paint to give it a stained glass/mosaic look. Overall I am pleased and I could attach a little sawtooth hanger to the back or display it on a stand. I still have three more and was thinking of themes for them. One of them I think I will do on a religious theme with some iconagraphy and richer embellishments. Thanks Kimmie for the inspiration. This was fun. If anyone wants to do a swap let me know and I could send each one a puzzle piece and we could go from there with the final result being nicely copied prints of the completed one for everyone to do as they wish with. I don't know exactly how it works.

'til later, Mollye
and oh yes, tell your friends they can still enter the giveaway for another 5 days!

LET'S PLAY A GIVEAWAY GAME

Hi Everyone!
I had an idea during the night when I was supposed to be sleeping.. shhhh! And I think it's gonna be fun.
Because I've worked for 50 years! Yep I truly have and because I like to write stories that make folks wonder "now what is Truth or what might be a little Spoof" I've decided to combine the two and have a GIVEAWAY!

I will list 15 jobs I've held (actually 14) for various lengths of time during my life and only ONE will be a spoof.

All you have to do is read my list and comment on it telling me which job you think I'm Spoofing about.
The Game begins now ... today and will be open until the end of day on Monday Aug. 31. I will randomly choose an entry and post the winner on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
And BTW.....you DO NOT have to have the right answer to win!

Now here's what the Giveway Box will contain and it's a pretty good sized box, huh?
First of all is this Crazy Quilting Book just loaded with gorgeous eye candy and whether you quilt or not, you will love owning this book and can use these techniques in your art work in so many amazing ways.
Some images here showing you what you'll see inside the book

And the second book is for all who like to journal or maybe you've been a wee bit intimidated about beginning. Never fear, 'tis easy peasy and soooo rewarding. This book guides you on a spiritual journey of "journaling".
Contents of the book for a sneek peek!

And a little glimpse at what you'll find. Lots of artists coming together to share in their work.

PLUS............ depending on your individual interests I will cram the box full of goodies like supplies and little hand-dids. So tell all your readers and c'mon over to play Truth or Spoof.
Oops............here's my colorful lifetime list of jobs:
