PRESIDENTS DAY.... WORTH REMEMBERING

From the Good Book

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will have their fill.
Mt. 5:6

GREAT CAUSES REQUIRE GREAT SACRIFICES

Reflection. Abraham Lincoln kept our nation together with words of wisdom like these: "If the union of these States, and the liberties of these people be lost, it is but little to any one man...but a great deal to millions of others, and to their posterity."

Now we can thank God we stood the course, but then the Civil War seemed so wasteful.

Prayer: Grant me, Lord, the wisdom to know Your Will.

Happy Presidents Day everyone and while many of us may not celebrate this day as a true holiday I still like to think it is a day where we can all surely be most grateful for the blessings of living in a country where we are free to do so or not.

  1. Happy Presidents' Day, Mollye! And I agree about the Uncivil War. ;-) It was a huge, huge waste of life and fortunes, but as Lincoln also said (which is a quote from the scriptures), "A House divived cannot stand." What didn't kill us, made us stronger. Thank goodness not only for us, but for the whole world!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
