IS THERE ANYTHING MORE PRECIOUS

Than Friends?

Do you remember your special childhood friend? I do. Her name was Jackie and we had great times with weekend sleep-overs. She lived across town but came on weekends to visit her grandparents and we were treated like princesses as her grandparents were pretty old. At least much older than my parents who were then in their 30's! We had wonderful fun times acting out the antics of our heros "Betty and Veronica" in the newest comics.

And whoa nellie did ya ever play "Doctor" with someone? C'mon, I promise not to tell!

Oh yes I remember like it was yesterday hauling my favorite dolls outside to a nicely laid pallet with my little scrub pot, rub board and soapy water to first bathe the dolls then wash their clothes. To this day, laundry and ironing delight me!

And what little girl in the 40's and 50's did not have several really good jump ropes? Do kids still jump rope? They should. Have you read the latest reports on childhood obesity? I say buy them jump ropes. We still ate Twinkies and Moon Pies but got so much exercise that the calories never stayed on our thighs.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh swoon, swoon. I never had one of these. Could this be a Jumeau? What a lucky little girl.

And who out there remembers her first Kiss? I don't know how many I had before the age of 12, but I sure remember that one. His name was Billy Sherrill. My Momma and Daddy took us to the movies once and my daddy made fun of him because he said he had B.O. What the heck was that and who cared. He smelled wonderful to me!

And did you ever see anything sweeter than this? Yes of course you have. She reminds me of our daughters and grand-daughters. We're not one bit biased, we just all happen to know we have the most beautiful and smartest little gals!!!

  2. Good Morning Sweetie...
Yep, I had a best friend, her name was Debbie Guffy. We were in all 6 grades together before she moved away and broke my heart. We shared so many things together. We were going to grow up and be beach bums together. Spend as much time at the sea shore as we wanted, and never have to go home. We shared many moon pies and milk with our dollies. Wonderful memories.

Yes my first kiss, a boy named Jimmy. He had lots of freckles and a farm with a horse. I thought he was so rich, because you had to have many to have big pets like a horse. He thought we were rich because we lived in a two story house. Aren't kids funny?

I love this one sweetie. Thanks for the memories. Have a beautiful day. Country hugs and so much love...Sherry

  3. Way to go gal. I just read your previous post and sometimes think I am paranoid about today's times but maybe it is just plain wisdom. Seems you can hardly trust anyone anymore. Today's post was beautiful. Yes I did all those things.Playing doctor, kiss and holding hands at a movie when about 12 or 13. I had a nickname, Turkey Legs, when I was a teen, no fat what so ever. What happened?

  5. I was in 7th grade when I got my first kiss. His name was Greg Mayfield and he was a wild boy. I thought I was going to throw up (sorry) when his kiss was MORE than I wanted it to be. SCARY to me! I was only 12. Now when I think about it I crack myself up!

Innocense. There is nothing purer on the planet.

    Love to you~
