THE BEAUTY OF VULNERABILITY

woman, why do you weep?

In my opinion there is little in life more vulnerable than a man bearing his soul and sharing a part of his life so personal.

Man is in his very nature aloof and secretive, stoic and gleaning information about his childhood or past is quite similar to pulling wisdom teeth. Without Novacain.

But when they are ready, if there is ever a time when you are in the presence of a man and he begins talking to you about things so personal and private and these are things you have never even wondered about or asked about then you are THERE!

We women love to jabber, talk, express our feelings and become annoyed when our men don't feel the same urges. They just aren't made that way.

To listen to a man talk quietly and see the raw emotions from the places of joy or the wreckages of his past emerge in his soul and well up in his eyes can bring you to your knees in agony. You have witnessed a miracle and a blessing as you have seen his soul.

I weep with emotion.

  1. I know what you mean, Mollye. It is amazing. I think one of the most touching things I've ever seen was a man in Bible Study who told us that he had been an abuse victim as a small child, and he just wept before the Lord as the Lord helped heal his heart. I have never been so humbled in all my life. This good ole boy weeping openly as he finally was able to tell someone about his need for healing. I do hear you.

I have computer access today for the first time in over a week. I've been at our getaway, and when I got home, your gift was waiting for me! I just had to come by and thank you for my pin and antique letter. If you aren't the sweetest one! It really touched my heart. The pin was as cute as can be, and the letter was written two months after I was BORN! How about that for a coincidence! I loved the creative envelope, too. You are GOOD! But I already knew that, and I thank you for your friendship and kindness. :-)

Going to run back there to supervise some repairs to the house later. I'm not going to blog today except to thank you, pay condolences to someone who lost their FIL, and congratulate Shelia on her new grandbaby.

    Over and out...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  2. It sounds as if your sweet hubby had some memories come rushing to him as you went through the shed treasures? I know I have told my hubby things that I have shared with no one and he has with me too. A marriage made in heaven will have no secrets. Even if it takes some time to get them all out.
    Blessings dear friend.

  6. The music, the picture, and the article.....I'm about to just fall over my desk and weep, and weep. Ansy (believe it or not) is the most vulnerable man I have ever known ~ but maybe that is because he is still really a boy (in maturity) He has shared so many deep vulnerable and raw honest thoughts with me....My hubby; a few. He has had a few moments.
Thank you for your beautiful written thought momma. I am so lucky to have you as my mother.
