We were married almost six years ago in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on Beaver's Bend Lake at dusk and all our family was there and it was beautiful.
But we wanted to have our marriage Blessed in our church and it is known as a Marriage Convalidation so we did this today with our parish priest, Fr. Peter who married us all over again and our dear friend Msgr. LaCaze.
It was very small, with Shari and Jake our youngest daughter and son.
Our other two kids live in Arkansas and Alabama and weren't able to be here but were here in our hearts.
Two of our friends stood up for us and there were a handful of other friends and parishioners who stayed after the noon mass for the sacrament. It is a beautiful little chapel and everything was just perfect.
Afterwards Shari's hubby Wes met us at Macaroni Grill and the kids treated us to a late lunch.
It was a beautiful day and getting married twice to the best guy in the world ain't bad!

How sweet, honey! Hubby and I were married twice: once in 1961 and then sealed in the Temple in 1994. We only celebrate the first one though. Both are special but I can only take one anniversary dinner a year! Hah. ;-)

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Sweetie, and I know where you got married. Being from Enid, I have been there. Daddy was a big bass fisherman and did tournaments all over the state for years. Us kids went along and sat on the banks and swim and had a blast with Moma while Daddy fished. That is such beautiful country and what better place than a sunset on the lake. I know it must have been gorgeous.
You two look so precious. I adore your pictures and I am so tickled you renewed your vows. How lovely Mollye. Tony and I always said if we make it to 40 we are going to Hawaii and renew our vows there. We are at 35 years so we should make it to Hawaii yet.
