MAY I INTRODUCE MY ALABAMA FAMILY

This picture of Buddy and Jessica was taken at his place in Louisiana before he moved to Mobile. One of the yellow roses he grew.

You know girls, I'm always talking and bragging about my girls and their youngins and all the fun stuff we do together, but my oldest son Lance whom we have always called Buddy lives in Mobile, Alabama and I thought it was high time I introduced him and his family to you!

Bella enjoying nature in the Great Smokey Mountains

Buddy met and married the beautiful Jessica almost two years ago and moved to Mobile which was where she lived with her three adorable children; Malcolm, Addison and Isabella. Malcolm and Addison are twins who will be 14 this December. Now quite an interesting story about these two charmers. They were premies and though visually impaired are far more abled than disabled as they participate in so many sports and are such well rounded guys.

Malcolm recently was interviewed to attend boarding school in Taladega for the visually impaired and scored high so there is a good chance he might be going away for school this fall and of course if he does he will get to come home every three weeks for a visit and his parents have arranged to connect with him each evening by Skipe. (did I spell that right?). Addison will stay home for a year or two probably to get some extra one on one with his studies and hopefully be able to join his brother later on. This school would give these boys such a wonderful opportunity to achieve a career to be completely independent when grown. I have such respect and admiration for my daughter-in-law as you know it will not be easy to turn loose of one of your youngins for away from home school, but she truly sacrifies willingly to afford the best of the best for her children.

Addison, Bella and Malcolm (just two of the sweetest boys I've ever known)

And then there is Isabella, known simply as Bella. She is a perky, fun and delightful 9 year old with a bit of a serious nature. She's easy going but still can get wound up! They all three recently got to go on a camping trip accompanied by their mom up in the Smoky Mountains and were one with nature as you can see by the fun activities they got to participate in.

I loved both of these and couldn't make up my mind on which to post so I'm just sayin...........I couldn't decide! I loved the pensive look on her face in the doorway but also the ease with which she rode the horse.

My son Buddy has an extensive background in saltwater fish which began when he lived for many years out in the San Francisco Bay area of setting up tanks, design and the care of these exotic fish and is quite an expert with corals, rocks and the elements involved with saltwater and reef tanks.

But he's also a "farm boy" and loves nothing more than raising and caring for critters and growing their own food. Isn't there just something about a guy in a cowboy hat? I know I'm a wee bit biased!

Jessica is a Surgical Registered Nurse and works in a busy hospital there in Mobile

We just think we have a gorgeous daughter in law who is just as pretty on the inside!

In her "off" time she is a Roller Derby Skater. For those of you over the age of 50 you probably remember the Roller Derby of that era. It was the rage and apparantly has taken quite a hold there in the Mobile area also known as L.A.(lower alabama)!

Jessica on the left and you'll get a kick out of her "stage name" for the rink...Jess is known in the world of skating as Tata Bodacious! Buddy is presently coaching the team and his name is "Coach Jefe". LOL

So there you have it. You've gotten to know my son Jake and what a wonderful stand-up guy he was through my writings regarding his recent passing away. You've seen various pictures and little stories of both Lori and Shari and now the clan is complete.

You girls have a wonderful, restful, but playful day today and be good to yourself!

Love you all, mizmollye and Punkin too!

  1. Buddy did a great job on that tank set up! It looks like it was plucked from the sea. What a wonderful family he has. I am sure they are a blessing to each other. Bella is a beauty and the twins are at such an exciting age deciding what they are going to be when they grow up! Don't tell them but, at 54 I still don't know what I want to be. That Daughter in Law must be a joy! What a variety of interests she has. Maybe she can get you in some roller skates. What would your roller derby name be?

  2. Good stuff! I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa. My Daddy's identical twin brother and his family lived in Mobile, so we spent a lot of time there. My cousin Sarah and her family still live there.

  3. Good morning Mollye!
How I enjoyed this "gettin' to know you" piece :)
I've a soft spot in my heart for Alabama, since my only son and his family reside in Montgomery. Gotta tell ya, this music has me dancin' in my seat ... right out the door to work in a sec with a BIG smile on my face!

  5. Good Morning Mollye Sweetie...
Oh I love this share this morning. Your family is just beautiful. Buddy is so handsome, and that Jessica is as sweet as pie. I can see it on her face. She lights up the room with that smile of hers.

Aren't the twins just precious. Congrats to Malcomb. What a challenge to go off like that on your own. He is very brave, and I will be holding sweet Moma up in prayer at that time. It is very hard to trust someone else with a child we have raised all these years.

Isabella is beautiful. Yes Mollye both pictures are priceless, but there is something about her face in that doorway. Just precious.

Thank you for sharing another piece of your family with me this morning. I have so enjoyed myself.

Hope you have a beautiful morning sweetie. Country hugs and so much love, Sherry

  6. I used to watch Roller Derby on TV when I was a little girl in the 1950s! I thought what wild and crazy women they were! (my mom didn't like me watching "that" kind of show! :)
Also, I love Jessica's derby name!! I heard that term in the movie, An Officer and a Gentelman!!
    Great family, Mollye!!

  13. What a charming post, Mollye...I enjoyed meeting your son Buddy's family, and the pictures are wonderful! They're a great bunch and doubtless feel blessed to have you in their lives. I'm old enough to have gone to roller derby with my dad, and must say I admire Jessica's style!

Although, we haven't actually met, (I'm one of your Bloggerette sisters) I've worried how the summer was treating you after losing Jake. I hope that you've found a modicum of peace and that joy has returned to your life.

Take good care of yourself. Thinking of you with love...
