JUST GIRL TIME
Every now and then just nothing will do a body good quite like a little girl time. Wouldn't you all agree?
Lori, Shari and I took off this morning for a day trip to Natchitoches, LA which is about 65 miles south of us and our plan was to tour Melrose Plantation above all. But we never even considered it would be closed on Monday! So we plan to go back down there and go through every nook and cranny of Melrose Plantation and the story of Melrose is just so fascinating and I want to take lots of pictures for you when we go.
But we still had a great time. We explored some little gift shoppes and the oldest hardware/mercantile store in Louisiana. And I bought this
and this little giftie which has post-it notes inside with the initial K on each sheet for my next door neighbor Kay who has shown me the love.
And we ate lunch at Laysone's Famous Meat Pie place and drove up and down the Cane River and looked at lots of little former slave quarters still being lived in! and by that time ... well we had to make a little pit stop on our way out of town and next door was another restaurant touting the best Bread Pudding ever, so well I'm just saying who could resist. So in we went and sat out on the deck overlooking the Cane River and were told they were OUT of bread pudding today so we all got something else and a cup of dark roast Louisiana Creole coffee and it was time to come on back.
Wouldn't you love to have a little art studio or hobby get-a-way like this charming little retreat?
I'm so thankful to have two girls who love each other and care so much about their momma too. We have such fun together.
Oh yes and my boy Buddy is coming in this weekend from Mobile to visit us.
Love you all, Mizmollye and Punkin too!

I just found your blog, looks like a great place, so... I am now a follower. I would love to have that little place as an art studio! God Bless you and may God carry you through these years without Jake. I lost my only Daughter and know how hard it can be. Have fun with Buddy this weekend!

Diane
Hi Mizmollye, Yes, girl time with your daughters are special times. The three of you look so pretty together. Love the parasol. Gerry
ReplyDeleteMiz M. I adore a good bread pudding too. If it wasn't for my expanding thighs, I would go mix up a batch right now. Your girls are wonderful and you deserve them. I am glad you liked the little lady, I had fun making her. Your grand baby Luke looks so sweet. I do adore them at that stage. I would love to cart him around on my hips and give him lots of hugs and kisses.
ReplyDeleteHey Sister Mollye, I got something very special in the mail today! That ATC you created was so full of energy. Intense to say the least, I will treasure it. Glad you were able to spend the day with your friends, you look like you were enjoying yourself. Bread pudding yum! Did it have some good Kentucky Bourbon sauce on it?
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Debbie

Lovely picture of the three of you,not sure if her name is Lori but the one next to you looks so much like you (and you all look like sisters)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a nice day away my friend, and it looked like such a lovely place....the little parasol would be gorgeous hanging uupside down over the brides chair at her wedding shower, filled with rose petal to be emptied on her at the end of the night...(sorry its late and I tend to ramble when I am tired) .....:-) Hugs
What fun! Thanks for taking me along with you via this post.
ReplyDeleteMom and daughter times are great. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I look forward to photos of the plantation when you get to visit. Thanks for taking us along on your little excursion.
ReplyDeleteMollye, what a wonderful day for you and your daughters! I don't have any daughters, but when I need some "girl" time, I have my very best girl friends to be with! You are in my heart and thoughts every day!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of that little studio, and would love a retreat just creating and relaxing. How perfect would that be!!! You girls look wonderful and happy together! Is bread pudding like our bread and butter pudding over here I wonder? Love you buys Mollye. Loves you! Suie xxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThese could not be your daughters, when I read this in one of the comments. I thought now Mollye is going to be offended for someone to think her friends are her daughters. You are lookin young here, Girlie!
ReplyDeleteDebbie

ReplyDeleteStill holdin' you in my heart and prayers, Missy...

What fun to be with your girls, Mollye! And you look like one of their sisters. Girl, you just don't age at ALL! Lookin' good, girlfriend, and they are adorable, too.
ReplyDeleteLouisiana bread pudding. I would drive all the way there for some with the good kind of "hard sauce". Isn't that what it's called? I love Natchitoches, but I haven't toured Melrose, either. I just love Louisiana period.
Love you, too!
XO,
Sheila :-)
