CAN'T EVEN GIVE IT AWAY...WHAT THE HECK!
I told you a couple of weeks ago that I am getting "out" of the paper arts and I offered flat rate Priority Mail boxes of art and craft supplies for sale. Well I did actually send out approximately 8 boxes but still........................ it barely made a dent in my bulging art studio.
OK...it wasn't like I was trying to make my money back on what all that stuff has cost over the years, but my goal was to clear out my room leaving nothing but crochet, sewing, and my tools for jewelry making. That way I could actually "decorate" the room and have a nice room to set up my little folding table when I do want to create. Also there will be room for a rocking chair for which I can't tell you why...........but my daughter Shari has promised to share this secret with you very soon on her blog at She Openeth Her Mouth.
Anywhoo........I decided to put a FREE ad on Craigslist and I was looking for Non-profit groups like maybe nursing homes but only got calls from stay at home moms and a couple of church women. So I boxed it up and boxed it up until I had 17 big moving boxes full and I called everyone over the weekend and asked them to come this morning as the living room was full to the brim and you know how anxious stuff like that makes my Punkin and I wanted it G-O-N-E by the time he gets home this afternoon. Weeeeeeeelllllllllll two have come and the other three are so far a no show. And I'm jsst sayin.........this is GOOD stuff. No junk!
We also have out in the front yard a two piece sofa set and a queen size bed set all covered with plastic and waiting for the Rescue Mission Thrift Store truck to pick it up. They may get lucky and get a load of craft supplies too!
Why is it so hard to GIVE something away these days?

Wish I were there to help you dear.
ReplyDeleteWow, I missed out on the sale and I knew about it. Guess I thought I would have a bit longer to get my act (and pennies) together. I totally understand getting it out of the room. Things like that drive me crazy, too.
ReplyDeleteMy package arrived today. I couldn't figure out what it was but there were loose bits and bobs in there. When I got home it was like my birthday. All kinds of fun stuff. Thank you for the goodies. Best to you on your makeover.
