IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN
HUNTING SEASON...........Opening weekend coming up and I just this morning realized I have not gotten my Punkin Darlin ready! Oh me oh my what on earth would he do without mizmollye?
I'm off to Big Lots as they have the very best selection of canned goods which is all he likes to take. Although the lease is several hundred acres and there are a dozen or so members, not all of them hunt at the same time and Mike spends most of the time while there alone so cooking is out of the question.
This is a typical picture of Man Getting Ready To Do What He Was Born For.
This was made last year right before Buddy left to move to Mobile. Note the back of the truck the plastic box loaded with canned goods. Boys I tell ya...it just don't get no better.
Sooooooooooooooo from now until the end of the year, I will see my hunny=hunny about three nights a week and he gets no phone reception from the woods so I'm really out of touch with him. I used to worry about him getting hurt and no one knowing it but now I'm coming to the realization that God has His eye on him and there is nothing I can do to prevent anything from happening to anyone.
This is the time of year he works for all year long and I am happy he has something that for a short time he can be at complete peace... with nature, with God and with the critters.
In some ways I like the time to myself as I just live a little differently...you know? House not so clean, eating what and when I want, sleeping later, etc.
I sure get lonely for my Punkin Darlin though.

It certainly looks like a great thing for a guy to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! I love it when I have time to go visiting through blogland =)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby does not hunt but I have plenty of relatives who do. I'm sure the down time is good for you too. Eat what you want, when you want....nice!
Have a great day!
Kind of a nice trade off you both get to do exactly what you want to do for a few days each week!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, cool hobby for your Honey! It is nice to have time alone sometimes, lots of time to think and pray! My Husband was down in Gulfport after Katrina for a LONG time working on getting the phones back up. I missed him terrible but I know what you mean about eating what and when I wanted to. I ate lots of chicken fingers and tater tots:)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day my friend preparing you sweetie for his trip!
Yes I know what you mean, it is lovely sometimes to do things a little differently, I love having the occasional night or two alone, but its been a while now though! I love watching girlie movies, listening to music a bit too loud, eating when I feel like it, and being able to fill up on rubbish if I choose, go to bed when I want, and usually if music is involved it would be at the crack of dawn! George is like a mother hen and always watches out that I am behaving! So it is great to have that time now and again! Susie xxx
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mollye Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh how exciting this is. Get hubby happy with his hunting experience, you have made sure he will have plenty to eat, and you can spend a little girl time just for you. Watch what you want, when you want, go where you want, and NO hurry. If you don't feel like cooking, NO worry. Oh enjoy yourself a little sweetie.
Mollye I so wish I lived closer, I would have SO loved a box of your crafting goodies, in fact I would have taken at least 2 myself. Durnit. All the good stuff is always thousands of miles away.
I pray for you comfort and love each day sweet friend. Baby steps, one day at a time. Just please know that you are SO loved. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry
I hope your hubby enjoys his hunting time, and you enjoy your alone time sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteI hope your hubby enjoys himself. May you also have some down time to enjoy for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about having some time to yourself. My husband lives and works in another city during the week and comes home most weekends so I'm on my own most of the time. It's been three years now -- took a little getting used to at first, but now it seems almost natural to me. I enjoy seeing him come home, but life is different with a man around. More responsiblity for me and another's needs and desires to consider before doing anything. It's a bit of a roller coaster but better than unemployment (we've been there, done that bigtime!).
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Ann
Enjoy your time, you two! God's got His eye on you both! God bless!
ReplyDeleteI believe that is the way to have a happy marriage, to allow each other time to persue their great hobby. How great to be able to put it all in God's hands and continue on with joy in your heart. Blessings to a great couple.
